Driver Seat

Driver’s seat

1 – Adjustable Headrest.
2 – Seat Arm Rest. The arm rest angle can be adjusted or folded to a vertical position.
3 – Seat Belt. The height is adjustable at the B-Pillar.
NOTE: There is a side air-bag located in the edge of the seat.
4 – Door Latch Loop.
5 – Fuel Filler Door. Most Sprinter Vans use Diesel, but some newer ones have an optional gas engine.
6 – Vehicle safety labels. These include Safety Compliance Certification Label, tire pressure, weight loads, emergency assistance QR code that can be scanned by your phone, etc.
7 – Fuse Panes and Paint Code (under door side of the seat skirt)
8 – Seatback Lumbar Control
9 – Mercedes Chassis Battery compartment. (under mat)
10 – Seat Swivel Lever.
TIP: Program the seat memory button to the position for easy rotation.
NOTE: Wires under the seat in our van wrapped around the lever and pulled out the yellow connector when moving the seat. This caused a SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) airbag error. After plugging the connector back in, the only way to clear the error was with a visit to Mercedes.
11 – Seat Leg Support. A locking handle allows the seat front to extend for additional leg support.
12 – Steering Wheel Adjustment Lever.
13 – Vehicle Forward Camera System
14 – Sun Visor and Lock Clip.
Note: The Visor Lock Clip can be removed to permit the visor to rotate to the side window.
Danger: One possible reason for the clip is to keep people from moving the visor to the side because of the airbag located above the door. In an accident, the exploding airbag could launch the visor across the cabin.

Airbag System is located in the edge of the seat back next to the door, above the driver’s door, and in the steering wheel.

7 – Under seat fuse panel
Mercedes paint code.

(15) – Under the driver’s seat skirt, near the emergency brake handle, is a 12-volt cigarette-style receptacle. Our Sprinter also has a 12-volt outlet under the cup holders in the center dash area.

(15) – Emergency Hand Brake – On our first outing, we had a little trouble with the hand brake. The handle can be pushed down to clear the swivel seat. The brake is still on but looks off in this down position. At first, we thought it had broken the brake cable. To release the brake, pull up really hard while holding the release button.

16 – Headrest
17 – Headrest – Forward/Back Tilt
18 – Headrest – Height Adjust Button
TIP: The headrest can also be removed using this button. In an emergency, the headrest can be removed and used to smash the windows.
19 – Seatbelt – Height Adjustment
